One of the very best things to do in Sonoma is eat. You’ll find seasonal, local, delicious ingredients in the food at every restaurant here. We hope you visit some of our favorites listed below.

Breakfast
Sunflower Caffé
This caffé is located in Sonoma Plaza. It is lined with local art and serves breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, they usually have a few delicious egg and waffle dishes, as well as great coffee. And, the breads they serve for toast and sandwiches are always excellent.
We recommend getting a side of breakfast potatoes if you don’t order a dish that comes with them and grabbing a table on the garden patio at the back of the restaurant if you can.

Homegrown Bagels
This small shop is very comfortable, and the bagels are delicious. It is located in a shopping center right next to Sonoma Plaza. This is a great place to stop if you’re looking for something quick and easy.
We like to get their veggie bagel sandwiches.
Sausage Emporium
This family-owned restaurant has moved around the Plaza in last few years due to it’s growing popularity. Here you’ll find gourmet sausage flights, charcuterie boards, and sandwiches, as well as craft brews and wines.
We recommended checking this place out for breakfast, but it is also a great lunch spot.

Picazo Cafe
Located less than 10 minutes from Sonoma plaza, this small cafe serves both breakfast and lunch. Their breakfast includes açaí bowls, scrambles, pancakes, waffles, chilaquiles, and more. And for lunch, they serve delicious sandwiches, salads, burgers, and more.
Lunch/Dinner

The Girl & the Fig
This Sonoma Plaza restaurant serves delicious french-style food. Inside, you’ll find an antique bar and hidden garden patio. The seasonal menu includes delicious charcuterie platters if you want to sit and hang out for a bit.
There are a few items that are always on the menu that we highly recommend: fig & arugula salad, steamed mussels & frites, and steak & frites. You can usually find a table here easily between peak hours, but if you’d like to eat here for dinner, book a reservation.
Wit and Wisdom
Wit and Wisdom is located at The Lodge at Sonoma. It was recently renovated and revamped by Chef Michael Mina. The food is delicious, and the team the works here is really proud of and excited about what they’re creating.
If you’re staying at The Lodge, you can even order room service from this restaurant, but we recommended enjoying their outdoor patio.

El Molino Central
This small restaurant is widely recognized as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area, which the owner credits to her collaborative staff of Latinx immigrants. While the menu changes seasonally, the staff always makes fresh masa daily from local ingredients to use in their dishes.
At El Molino Central, you’ll order at the counter and head to their outside patio to enjoy your meal. Be sure to get the guacamole and chips!
Glen Ellen Star
The atmosphere at Glen Ellen Star is cozy and rustic. The chefs use a wood fire oven to cook delicious breads (including pizzas), vegetables, and other meals.
Make sure to book a reservation if you’d like to eat here. We recommend getting whatever their bread of the day is. If you’re traveling in a small party, you can reserve seats at the bar to watch the chefs do their thing.

Dessert
Sweet Scoops Homemade Ice Cream
Who doesn’t love a homemade ice cream shop? This ice cream parlor makes fresh ice cream daily in small batches, and the flavors change often.
Grab some ice cream and enjoy it in the park around City Hall.
